Imagine living underground, where you never see the Sun. Imagine
another race of beings attack your people, trying to kill you just because
you are free and different and do not live by their own authoritarian laws.
Survival depends on stealth and invisibility. Your people become nothing more than legend among those who cling to superstition as they struggle to rediscover the simple way of life known to thier ancestors. Yet on a planet devastated by cataclysm, they seek still to rediscover technology and repeat the mistakes of their kind.

Keeping watch on the humans is survival, but it must be done unseen. They are a fearful species. They lack connection to the life force of the Dance. They imagine themselves masters of nature and all that is on the Earth, and they will kill the goblins if they learn of their existence.
